Sinful colors why not swatch

I both love and hate this shade all at the time time. This sort of ashy mustard shade is ugly, I think we can all agree on that, but after applying it I feel like it's the kind of ugly that is weirdly pretty? And also, I think that on a deeper skin tone, this could end up looking insanely cool and chic. On my skintone I think that dash of ashy olive in the undertone really helps to modernize it and make it a little more flattering.

I was initially a little bit worried about how I'd feel about the scent, but it's actually really soft and kind of pretty. If you hate chamomile, which I sort of do, I think you might be surprised at how non-offensive this scent is.

The formula, though, is incredibly impressive. Based on the sheerness of the first coat, I thought it was going to be tricky, but it built to opacity in that second coat and it has this really thin formula that levels beautifully and somehow isn't runny. It's weird and surprising and I kind of love it. This was, by far, the shade in the collection that I was personally most excited about.

It's this really pretty milk chocolate taupe sort of shade with a strong gold shimmer running through it. It reminds me a little bit of Come Closer from the Naughty Nudes collection, but it's definitely a little darker and I think this has a more yellow undertone to it and maybe a little bit more ashiness.

I also feel like this one shows brush strokes a bit more in that shimmer. The scent on this one is a sort of creamy coffee scent, maybe more latteish, and I think it's really, really lovely. I was kind of worried about how a coffee scented nail polish would be, but I actually really like the scent. The formula on this one is nice, gives solid two coat coverage and applies really smoothly and evenly.

Would just recommend being a little extra careful on that second coat to get smooth brush strokes in the finished look. You guys. I would say that this is sort of a pale mint green? Maybe a sage green? A pastel turquoise? Anyway, it's a pale cool toned green shade that is a pretty standard nail color these days, I'd say.

These shades are also all with the new wider brush! Instead of the skinny square brush, these have the wider round brush. The brush does definitely help smoothing the polish on more easily. This shade definitely had a thinner, more watery formula.

I did have to build this up with 3 thinner coats. This is a more coral-toned leaning orange polish. Again, this one did feel a little thinner and watery than any normal cream polish. With longer nails it should be easier to get more polish onto the nail, and smoother coats right off the bat. I did 3 coats again for this one and it was fully opaque, all nail line covered. So nothing too crazy for it. This is definitely one of the thinnest shades — as you can imagine the bright yellow would be.

It did start building up in 2 coats, but there was still visible nail line. I did end up doing a 4th here to completely cover it all and make it fully opaque to my eyes. You can also layer it on top of a similar colored base to cut down on coats, yet still get the textured finish.

This started out with a thin coat like the others, but it built up well in 2 coats. I had a couple patches left at 2, but a 3rd coat easily evened it out and made it opaque. I did 2 coats here, but on my middle nail in the bright lights, you can see it could use another coat. This one was a little more pigmented than the others, so it built up easily in just 2 coats. It went on smoothly and was so easy on the nails. This is a bright blue shade.

This was definitely the most pigmented shade of the bunch, and felt the thickest. But Show Me the Way definitely stink more than others. Even after it dried. The brush is quite standard. Nothing to write home about but something to write a review about. The length of the handle allows for good ease of use, and the cap offers decent grip. Show Me the Way by SinfulColors dries to a completely smooth and glossy finish. Finally a great point that I can stand behind!

Not great. Not bad. Excuses, excuses, right? Because of that squishy-ness, it was definitely more uneven on the 1st coat. But a 2nd coat easily smoothed it all out and made it fully opaque. It has the same formula as the first 2 shades, and is more sheer on the nails. This was 3 coats built up to full opacity with a more squishy finish. The shimmer in this is definitely subtle, and can be lost on the nails.

I do wish it was a -touch- more apparent but it adds a lovely little glow to the polish. Again, a more squishy, almost crelly formula, so this is 3 coats built up to full opacity. It reminded me of vanilla creamer in a fresh cup of coffee. This was a touch uneven on the 1st coat, but the formula feels thicker than the others and was fully opaque in just 2 coats.

I know people might not love the more sheer formulas, but every shade was opaque in 3 coats or less and was easy to work with. Follow me! Instagram: GingerlyPolished. You are commenting using your WordPress.
