By Editorial Staff July 16, The FSMTA Annual Convention and Trade Show offered the opportunity to learn from top educators, meet leaders in the field, experience new products, and to enjoy various social events. The event kicked off Thursday evening with a lively presentation by keynote speaker David Kent, owner of Muscular Pain Relief Center and president and founder of Kent Health Systems, who spoke on the convention's theme "Realize Your Potential".

In true David Kent fashion, he had the crowd up on their feet massaging each other's backs to the instrumental tune of "Pipeline" by The Ventures, and then somehow rolled the presentation into an inspirational take-home message on possibilities and how to reach your goals.

Attendees could earn up to 19 continuing education hours. The exhibit hall was filled with some of the major vendors and leaders in the massage industry. Attendees were invited to take free samples of products, fun giveaways and connect with some of the top leaders in the industry including orthopedic massage expert James Waslaski, Ruth Werner of Massage Therapy Foundation and Angie Patrick of Massage Warehouse. Each time we do this, it really solidifies in my mind a simple truth: If we come together and each contribute a little, we can achieve so much more than we ever imagined possible and become the catalyst for positive change," said Patrick.
