Where is white coppice




















Two miles distant, and a variety of scenery on the way, Great Hill offers spectacular views to the Lake District, Welsh mountains and the Lancashire coast. Be warned though, always take adequate clothing as the weather can change very quickly. Two series were made. White Coppice I was given this photo by C.

Oakden a few years ago. It probably dates to th s It shows the original track o the bridge over the Goit. This track was later moved closer to the stream that flows parrellel to the track and bends behind the cricket pavillion. Also the lodge beind the cottages has gone - only No6 and No 8 lodges are in the photo.

To supply No 8 lodge with water a channel was cut from Dean Black Brook across what is now the cricket field. That channel was open and is visible in the photo. At a later date it was covered and it now runs below the pitch. Made with Xara. Along the way there's an old quarry, a pretty brook and a number of little cottages in the hamlet.

Footpaths pass along the reservoirs before returning on Higher House Lane and another public path branching of to the left towards the hamlet. White Coppice is located very close to the splendid Healey Nab , so it's easy to continue your walking in the area.

Easy to follow route. Little tea shop on the cricket field at White Coppice. Nice pub the yew tree on the way back to the car. Lots of options to extend or change the route. Try out the great barn, or spring cottage for a bite to eat if heading that way. Great walk, really nice views. Muddy after rainfall in some parts but easy enough to navigate around.

Keep your eye on the map as at the top of white Coppice you have to veer off the stone path across the marshes and the path is hidden! It starts with a bit of an uphill climb but once at the top the view's are spectacular, the paths are nice to walk on and the route is easy to follow, would definitely recommend this walk. Loved it! We climbed first to give ourselves an easier time for the rest of the walk. Fantastic and varied views throughout.

Took a bit of a diversion to avoid a boggy stretch but otherwise stuck to the route. Will do again for sure! Lovely trail in scenic Lancashire. The starting point is a little cricket club in the village of White Coppice where you can enjoy a picnic on the grass. The trail is up hill with small streams and cobbled stoned paths.

Impressive cotton field at the top with a splendid view of the North West. However, do be careful if you venture off the beaten track.. Use Navigator in the AllTrails app and join the other outdoor explorers who have completed this trail.

Length This area is littered with reservoirs that were built at the turn of the 19th century to supply water to the nearby cotton towns and mills. If you want to show someone how picturesque Lancashire can be on a sunny day take them to White Coppice which was once a busy industrial village with a population of some Today many people will view White Coppice as an idyllic place to live. Beyond the cricket ground nestling at the foot of the moors is Dean Black Brook an area of quarrying and lead ore extraction.

Drinkwater's is an abandoned farmstead with it's own well known as Joe's Cup! On the moor, but not visited on this route, is an ancient burial mound called Round Loaf. The waterfalls are right at the beginning of the walk and they are absolutely beautiful. Theres barely a climb to get to them but already the views from them are stunning, especially surrounded by all of the autumnal colours. The route is very easy to follow and despite a bit of wet and mud underfoot to be expected in November it was a thoroughly enjoyable walk.
